Binchotan charcoal
A stick of charcoal has been added to the bottle that purifies your water for 6 months. It may seem strange to purify your drinking water with a piece of charcoal, but the Japanese have been doing this for centuries. Binchotan is an activated carbon made from tree branches and is known for its ability to soften water, add good minerals, and absorb unwanted tastes and odors, such as chlorine.
Fill the bottle with water and add the charcoal. Letting it sit overnight is ideal, but after an hour you can already taste a real difference. When you notice over time that the effectiveness of the filter decreases, you can recharge it by boiling it for ten minutes. Boiling flushes out the impurities and allows the charcoal to absorb more again.
With daily use to filter 1.1 liters of water, each stick lasts about 3 months. Then you can 'recharge' your charcoal stick by placing it in boiling water for 10 minutes.
